Pilar Mackenna's artwork seems to combine the most exquisite memories from a tender but creepy childhood. In "Mary Bell" (2010), the chilean artist reunites soft watercolours and detailed paper sculptures which are installed around space conforming a day dream habitat. Neverthless, shelves are stacked up with the strangest paper cut creatures that a cotton candy world would allow. Subtle and sweet, rough and violent at the same time.
